PURPOSE: To prevent overlapping of slit coil ends with each other by a method wherein a separator ring is moved along with movement of a coil end, and the coil end is always pressed by means of the separator ring.

CONSTITUTION: A separator ring 16 is revolved togetherwith a coil end along with rotation of the coil end in a state that the coil end is pressed to the position of a ring 22. In revolution of the separator ring 16, control in a direction Y-Y' is effected through running of a motor 21 and control in a direction Z-Z' through running of a motor 17, so that the separator ring 16 is moved to the position of the ring 22 togetherwith a slit coil end. Control of the motors 21 and 17 is effected by means of a microcomputer, the number of revolutions, a rotation direction, and a speed are controlled, and the separator ring 16 draws an arc of a circle. As a result, the coil end is always pressed by the separator ring 16, and each slit coil can be moved as the slit coils are separated from each other so as to prevent overlapping with each other.
