Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a separator for nonaqueous electrolytic battery which secures the electric ion conductivity as well as improves the mechanical strength of a film and prevents a breaking accident of the film, by using a minute porous film which consists of a high polymer polyethylene.
CONSTITUTION: This separator for nonaqueous electrolyte battery is a layer form structure film of a minute porous film which consists of a high polymer polyethylene with the limit viscosity 5dl/g or higher, whose porous rate is 30 to 70%, and has a nerve form porous structure composed of a microfibril. And in the above film, the piercing strength of the film is more than 30g. Consequently, this separator for nonaqueous electrolyte battery can secure the safety as well as can prevent a separator breaking accident by a dendrite or a dropped active material, and the electric ion conductivity can be improved.
