PURPOSE: To provide high corrosion resistance and prevent movement of electrolyte by making the whole of a wet sealing member for forming a separator body with the use of an electrolyte-proof insulation material.
CONSTITUTION: A gas passage member 1 is composed of one sheet of thin plate 1a made of an ordinary separator-forming material, and in its central part serving as a power generating area, corrugated sheets 1b, 1b forming passages for oxidant gas and fuel gas are disposed on both obverse and reverse thereof. Respective wet sealing members 2 having the same external size as that of the thin plate 1a are joined to both obverse and reverse sides of the circumferential part of the thin plate 1a. The whole of the wet sealing member 2 is made of an electrolyte-proof ceramic material or a high resistance metal. A plurality of separators (a) are assembled to form one fuel cell by ordinary means.
