PURPOSE: To realize easily serial/parallel and parallel/serial conversion of a data having a long bit length in conversion unit by adopting the constitution that the function of a converting section is divided and the substantial converting function is attained by plural constitution units and both serial/ parallel and parallel/serial converting functions are provided.
CONSTITUTION: The serial/parallel conversion of the first half (0∼31 bits) of one time slot among serial highway data SIN0∼SIN7 is executed by a serial/ parallel converting section A1 under the control of an identification means T1 receiving identification signals MOD 0, 1, and the serial/parallel conversion of the latter half (32∼63 bits) of one time slot is executed by a serial/parallel converting section A2 under the control of an identification means T2. Further, a 32-bit input of P0∼31 among parallel data P0∼63 inputs is converted by a parallel/serial converting section B1 and outputted to SOUT0∼7 as the first half (0∼31 bits) of one time slot of a serial data. Then a 32-bit input of P324n63 among parallel data inputs is converted by a parallel/serial converting section B2 and outputted to the SOUT04∼7 as the latter half (32∼63 bits) of one time slot of the serial data.
