Title:
SERIAL PRINTER AND METHOD OF HOME-SEEKING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3829977
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a serial printer having a movement-blocking member surely execute the accurate home-seeking. SOLUTION: While a carriage 1 is moving toward a home position, a carriage projection 1a of the carriage 1 is brought into contact with a carriage reception wall 1A of a lifting slider 15, and a signal from an encoder for outputting an ON/OFF signal by detecting the rotation of a carriage motor 2 is not generated. At that time, an amount of current applied to the carriage motor 2 is continuously increased so that the carriage 1 and the lifting slider 15 are advanced toward the home position. When the signal is not generated by the encoder 73 even when the amount of the current exceeds a home position judgement threshold, it is judged that the lifting slider 15 is slid toward the home position at most and the carriage 1 reaches the home position. The current having the amount whereby the carriage 1 can be fixed to the home position is continuously applied to the carriage motor 2 for a predetermined time period. During that time period, the present position of the carriage 1 is set to a position register 53 as the home position.
