Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a DHCP server which assigns an IP address appropriate for performing communication.SOLUTION: A server selection program requests a server for assignment of an identity number in network, receives an identity number assigned from the server, in response to request, and the identity number of the server, determines whether communicate using the identity number assigned from the server, with reference to communication state in the identity number assigned from the server, stored in a storage section, requests the server for formal assignment of the identity number when a determination is made to communicate, otherwise discards the identity number assigned from the server, measures communication state using the identity number, after starting communication in the identity number assigned from the server, and updates the information about communication state to be stored in the storage section based on the measurement results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
