Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the linearity of alignment signal, by shifting the radially arranged information of a plurality with interval of the circular direction of servo plane one by one stage radially by the width of the servo track. CONSTITUTION:The servo tracks 41, 42, 43, 44 are formed at the both sides of the alignment line 45 on the servo pattern 40, and each track is limited with other alignment lines 46-49. Further, between the information 50, 51 bridging the tracks 41-44, the radially arranged information 52-54 consisting of two unit information bridged over the adjacent servos are shifted and located by the width of the servo track radially. Accordingly, the servo magnetic head scans by bridging the two to three tracks and it can be read out on each position to the line 45 for the servo signal consisting of four signals A-D. Further, when the center line of magnetic head scans on the line 45, the signal corresponding to B is not produced and since the comparison of the maximum value between the signals A and C at the both sides of 0 signal can be judged in advance, the linearity of the location signal can be increased.
