Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately position a servo head at the center of a track by obtaining the average value of peak levels in first and third servo signals and comparing and operating it with the peak level of a second servo signal. CONSTITUTION:A first operation means 23 adds the peak level of the first servo signal which first detection means 20 extracts with the peak level of the third servo signal which a third detection means 21 extracts and transmits the half of it to a second operation means 24. It operates a difference between the peak level which the operation means 23 transmits and the peak level of the second servo signal which the second detection means 22 transmits, and transmits a position signal POSN or POSQ. Thus, the head can accurately be positioned in the center of the track since the influence of the deterioration of the peak level in the servo signal owing to the leak current from the capacitor and the amplifier circuit of a peak holding circuit can be removed.
