Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a session information management apparatus wherewith only legitimate group members belonging to a multicast group can receive distributed contents.
SOLUTION: The session information management apparatus in an IP (Internet Protocol) network that connects clients, for transmitting a data providing request to an upstream and receiving data from the upstream, to a server for providing requested data to a downstream, is provided with: a session information generating means for newly creating session information when a data packet is discriminated to be multicast on the basis of a prescribed identifier in a header of the data packet transmitted from the server or the client; and a data packet transmission control means for using the newly created session information to allow the server or the client in the downstream to start transmission of the data packet.
