To provide a set of pigment ink and reaction liquid that can impart high-grade scratch resistance and marker resistance to an image without impairing high image density and ink storage stability.

The set of the pigment ink containing at least a pigment and resin, and the reaction liquid containing a reactive material that makes the dispersed state of the pigment unstable is provided. The pigment ink contains a graft polymer including a nonionic unit represented by a general formula (I), a unit having a polysiloxane structure, and a unit having a carboxy group. In the general formula (I), R1 and R2 are respectively independent hydrogen atoms or methyl groups, R3 is an ester bond or an ether bond, and x is an integer of 1 or 2, wherein when R2 is the methyl group, R3 is not the ether bond.
