A commodity/service selling/providing means (shop server), a purchase/accepting means (user terminal), and a mediating means (mediating server) connected together via a communication line such as the Internet are arranged, and the mediating means (mediating server) is connected to a settlement organization. In this mediating server, information specifying transfer of a commodity or provision of service to be carried out by the shop server is inputted, and then, the user terminal inputs information specifying a payment method of a price to be paid to the selling/providing means. A shop server operator inputs information showing that the transfer of the commodity or the provision of the service to be carried out is performed to the user, and when this information showing the performance is inputted, information demanding a settlement method following the payment method is outputted to the settlement organization, and this is reported to the selling/providing means.
