To provide an economical settler which has a high separating efficiency, is easy to maintain and inspect.
The settler is provided with a separation accelerating mechanism 80 in a separating tank. The separation accelerating mechanism has a multistage corrugated plate structure wherein a plurality of corrugated plates 86 formed by adjoining alternately a crest part 82 and a valley part 84 wherein an ridge line and a base line are respectively extended in a flow direction of a fluid, are separated by a spacer support 88, and arranged parallel to a flow direction of a fluid, i.e., horizontally. In the separation accelerating mechanism, a water drop (a liquid drop of a large specific gravity phase) is precipitated, and deposited on the surface of the corrugated plate 86. An oil drop (a liquid drop of a small specific gravity phase) is raised, and caught and deposited on a rear surface of the corrugated plate 86. Thereby, a separation efficiency is improved.
