Abstract:
To process a needle-punch pattern hard to be peeled off easily without time and effort.SOLUTION: A sewing machine 1 comprises: a holding frame 4 for holding a workpiece; a chain stitch mechanism (a crochet needle 30, a looper 13) for forming an embroidery pattern, constituted of loop stitches, on a top surface of the workpiece held by the holding frame 4; and a needle-punch mechanism, which includes a needle-punch needle 11 inserted into and pulled out of the embroidery pattern, constituted of loop stitches, made on the top surface of the workpiece held by the holding frame 4, for forming a needle-punch pattern on the top surface of the workpiece by the needle-punch needle 11 making fuzzy fibers of a sewing thread 16 which forms the loop stitches. Since the sewing thread 16 itself of the embroidery pattern to be a base of the needle-punch pattern is intertwined with the workpiece, the needle-punch pattern is hard to be peeled off.
