Abstract:
To provide a shape design method for a molten metal ladle capable of estimating the stress generated at a molten metal ladle at high precision and deciding the optimum ladle shape.SOLUTION: A shape design method for a molten metal ladle composed by constructing a refractory to the inside face of a shell and holding a molten metal comprises: a calculation step where, regarding the existing ladle during an operation, stress calculation is performed using the Young's modulus of the refractory set based on the past operation conditions to acquired calculated stress value as the stress generated in the existing ladle; a measurement step where the stress generated in the existing ladle is measured to acquire measured value; a correction step where the Young's modulus is corrected in such a manner that a difference between the measured stress value and the calculated stress value reaches an allowable range; and a design step where the stress generated in the objective ladle as the design object is calculated by stress calculation to obtain the optimum shape of the objective ladle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
