Abstract:
To provide a shape memory alloy actuator in a simple and inexpensive structure.
An actuator consists of a hollow cylindrical case 1, a shaft 2 rotatably supported in the case 1, a ratchet gear 3 fixed to the shaft 2, a ratchet pawl 5 engaged with the ratchet gear 3, a spring made of shape memory alloy to move the ratchet pawl 5 and a heater to heat the spring. The spring is a bidirectional spiral spring 4 made of shape memory alloy which has the outside end 41 fixed inside the case 1 and the inside end 42 fixed to the ratchet pawl 5.
