To provide a shape variable sound generator which has a base and which achieves easy handling and wide range of utilization by variations of positions of flat speakers.
A sound generator 100 includes a thin base 10 having an equilateral triangle shape when viewed planarly, and four flat speakers 20 each configured into an equilateral triangular shape formed by a single plate and having an electrostatic speaker therein. Among the flat speakers 20, a fixed flat speaker 20Z is arranged fixedly onto the base 10, and movable flat speakers 20A to 20C are respectively connected to the fixed flat speaker 20Z in a freely rotatable manner. The sound generator 100 can be made into a three-dimensional state with a triangular pyramid shape by standing the movable flat speakers 20A to 20C and engaging engaging portions 23, 24 and engaged portions 39, 38 of the respective flat speakers with each other. Furthermore, the sound generator 100 can be made into a flatly developed state, in which the respective movable flat speakers 20 are parallel with respect to a top face 10a of the base 10, by releasing the engagements of the engaging portions 23, 24 and the engaged portions 39, 38.
