In the surface of a sheathed synthetic fiber rope (1) that comprises twisted load-bearing synthetic fiber strands (2, 4, 7), preferably the concentric core layer (5, 7) made of aramid fibers, a load-bearing aramide fiber strand (9) equipped with a fixing means that permanently bonds to the sheath made of a synthetic material, when it is pushed out after suitable pretreatment, is arranged to the outermost layer (11) of the strand. The permanent fixation of the synthetic sheath (14) to the twisted rope (1) is realized by the fixation means (13) that is exactly entrapped and bonded to the outermost layer of the strands.
