Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device that can convey sheets of various sizes and thickness continuously at minimum intervals and correct skew feed of these sheets accurately and stably also from the viewpoint of durability, and provide an image reader and an image forming device provided with this sheet conveying device.
SOLUTION: First sheet skew feed quantity detecting means 9a, 9b are arranged downstream of a sheet conveying means 6, in such positions that a clearance (La+Lb) to the sheet conveying means is shorter than the conveying direction length of a specified sheet, and other sheet skew feed quantity detecting means 15a, 15b are respectively arranged downstream of the first sheet skew feed quantity detecting means 9a, 9b. A control means controls first correcting action on the basis of skew feed quantity signals inputted from the first sheet skew feed quantity detecting means 9a, 9b and then controls correcting action of skew feed, not corrected in the first correcting action, on the basis of skew feed quantity signals inputted from the other skew feed quantity detecting means 15a, 15b, thus correcting skew feed accurately.
