Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user, etc., to simply perform the operation to avoid a filler member for sensing the height of sheets of paper stacked on a tray when a post-processing device is installed at the rear stage as well as the instalation works of the post-processing device.
SOLUTION: A filler member 20 approx. in a U-form is arranged rotatable in the vertical direction together with a first shaft 11 and also in the horizontal direction round a second shaft 21. A projection 25 provided on the second shaft 21 intrudes into either of dimples 24a and 24b formed in the filler member 20 to take either the normal position as dangling down for sensing that the place is filled with ordinary sheets of paper to generate 90 degs. to the axial direction of the first shaft 11 or the retreat position as stretching on the extension line of the first shaft 11, assuming one line with the first shaft 11, not dangling nor protruding over a sheet exhaust tray, and not capable of sensing the full state with sheets.
