Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a sheet-fed gravure printing press capable of smoothly applying various varnishes such as magnetic ink.
CONSTITUTION: A printing press is equipped with a plate cylinder 7, an impression cylinder 8 and a slackening preventing press roller 11 pressing a material to be printed to the impression cylinder 8. The peripheral speed of the plate cylinder 7 is made variable with respect to that of the impression cylinder 8. When the peripheral speed of the plate cylinder 7 is altered with respect to that of the impression cylinder 8 in such a state that the material to be printed is pressed to the impression cylinder 8 by the press roller 11, the plate cylinder 7 slips with respect to the material to be printed and the fine printing irregularity peculiar to gravure printing is leveled to smooth a printed surface.
