To provide a sheet feeder suppressing the occurrence of conveyance failures due to the fact that a sheet unreeled from a paper roll on a registration roller and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the sheet feeder.
The sheet feeder includes: the rolled paper obtained by winding the sheet in a roll form; a feed roller to unreel the sheet from the rolled paper and feed the sheet; the registration roller to transport the sheet unreeled by the feed roller to an image forming unit for forming an image on the sheet; a guide member to guide the sheet to the registration roller, disposed to be displaced with respect to an apparatus body, between the feed roller and the registration roller in a sheet conveyance path; and a bias means to bias the guide member toward the sheet. The guide member is pressed by the sheet against bias force exerted by the bias means, to be displaced, so that the sheet conveyance path becomes a path where the winding angle of the sheet with respect to the registration roller is larger, as the tension of the sheet is larger.
