Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interlock with drawing and insertion of a cassette tray, to allow the vertical movement of a bottom plate by smooth movement, to automatically lock the bottom plate at a lowering position when the cassette tray is drawn, and to save space of the shape of the cassette tray.
SOLUTION: The sheet feeder comprises the bottom plate 2 of which tip is adjacently arranged to the vertical wall on the sheet feeding direction side of the cassette tray, a latch member 3 for latching the bottom plate 2 in a removed state of the cassette tray from the device body or the like by a predetermined distance, and a projection 6 projecting from the outer wall on the width direction side of the cassette tray so as to be stored within the maximum width dimension in the direction orthogonal to the sheet feeding direction of the cassette tray. The sheet feeder has a pressing mechanism for moving the projection 6 in interlock with a drawing operation of the cassette tray from the device body, and presses the bottom plate 2 until it is latched to the latch member 3.
