Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device which prevents mixing of different types of sheets to sheets to be fed.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device 301 includes: a storage 11 which is loaded with sheets; a confluent conveyance unit 319 which feeds the sheets from the storage 11 to an image formation device 300; an emission element 6 which emits an ultrasonic signal toward the sheets conveyed in the confluent conveyance unit 319; and a reception element 7 which receives the ultrasonic signal transmitting the sheets and outputs an output signal according to the intensity of the received ultrasonic signal. The sheet feeding device 301 determines whether the type of conveyed sheets is a desired type of sheets on the basis of the output signal, feeds the sheets to the image formation device 300 when the conveyed sheets are the desired type, and discharges the sheets to an escape tray 101 when the conveyed sheets are not the desired type.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
