Abstract:
To provide an apparatus allowing for achieving size reduction of the apparatus, and a sheet folder and image forming system allowing for achieving size reduction of an apparatus.SOLUTION: A sheet folder allows a sheet discharged from a pre-processor such as an image forming apparatus to stay in a sheet staying unit 80, starts a fold operation after staying a predetermined sheet length in the sheet staying unit 80, and temporarily stops the fold operation in timing of switching over the rotating direction of a fold roller pair. The fold operation is resumed after the sheet stayed in the sheet staying unit 80 by a sheet transport distance to be carried to the sheet staying unit 80 before a next switchover of rotating direction of the fold roller pair. This operation is repeated a plurality of times to fold the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
