Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reinforce ends of a sheet glass with reinforcing members and ensure wind pressure resisting efficiency and earthquake resisting efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: Edge reinforcing members 10 processed by extrusion molding of aluminum material are mounted to edge sections 13 on both lateral sides of a sheet glass G. The edge reinforcing members 10 are constituted of reinforcing sections 10A as a blockaded section and approximate L-shaped channel frames 10B, and the whole perimeter of edge sections 13 is covered with the channel-shaped frames 10B over the vertical direction. Projections 10C are extended to the outside edge sections of the channel-chaped frames 10B in the vertical direction. Gaps between the channel-shaped frames 10B and edge sections 13 are filled with adhesives 12, and the edge reinforcing members 10 are fixed to the edge sections 13 of the sheet glass G. Lateral joint sections of the sheet glass G are connected by butting outside edges of the edge reinforcing members 10 through sealant.
