PURPOSE: To enable compacting of the whole of a device, by a method wherein plural rotary rolls, moved forward in a direction extending about at right angles with the feeding direction of a sheet for support and moved backward to place the sheet on a support table, are aligned in juxtaposition to the under surface of a sheet conveyed to a sheet support part.

CONSTITUTION: Plural sheets 12, conveyed from a conveyor 11, are placed on each rotary roll 16 in a condition in that each rotary roll 16 is moved forward, and the tips of the rolls are protruded through their respective holes 23 in a partition 21 to a position closer to the central part of a sheet support part 13. When the sheet is stopped in a place, each rotary roll 16, simultaneously, is moved backward. Thus, the sheet 12 is dropped, and once the sheet is received by a claw 25 brought into a protruding state, with the claw 25 retracted by means of an electromagnet, the sheet is laminated on a support table 15. Thereafter, each roller 16 is moved forward again. This enables proper lamination of the sheets, the appearance of which is important, and additionally, since a long claw is not used, a stroke is decreased, and the whole of a device can be compacted.
