Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet manufacturing apparatus allowing a passing material to quantitatively pass through openings while preventing the openings from being clogged by a residual material.SOLUTION: A sheet manufacturing apparatus 100 comprises: a defibrating section 20 defibrating a raw material containing fiber in air; a sorting section 40 sorting defibrated materials into a passing material passing through a plurality of openings and a residual material not passing therethrough; an accumulating section 72 accumulating the passing material; and a forming section 70 heating and compressing a web W accumulated by the accumulating section 72 and forming a sheet S. The sheet manufacturing apparatus 100 further comprises a defibrated material transporting section 83 transporting the defibrated materials by air flow and causing the defibrated materials to collide with a moving section 41. The moving section 41 is moved such that a part of the residual material not passing through the plurality of openings out of the defibrated materials colliding with the moving section 41 drops by its own weight.
