Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lowering of a processing speed for a sheet material to a minimum by a method wherein when a distance between the adjoining sheets of the given number of sheet materials guided in a turn-over path is increased to a value too high to contain the sheet materials in the turn-over path, the preceding sheet material of the sheet materials is decelerated or stopped according to spreading.
SOLUTION: After an image on the surface side of a first document P1 is read, conveyance of the first document P1 is stopped. Conveyance of a second document P2 fed in a delay is continued and the second document shortly reaches a reading position. A distance between the first and second documents P1 and P2 is gradually shortened and when a distance between the documents attains a given value (a value at which the first and second documents P1 and P2 can be contained in a document turn-over path for turn-over), conveyance of the first document P1 heretofore stopped is restarted. This constitution contains the two documents P1 and P2 in a document conveyance path for turn-over and performs turn-over of the two documents.
