PURPOSE: To execute easily bending, etc. of a sheet metal thick plate in a job site by inserting and holding a sheet metal stock by a pair of forming rolls, pressing it against on a forming base in its state, and subsequently, moving said roll or the stock in the horizontal direction.

CONSTITUTION: Between upper and lower forming rolls 17, 4, the end part of a stock is made to abut on a cover plate part 20 and inserted, and by operating a handle 13, the stock is inserted and held between the rolls 17, 4. In this case, a forming base 25 is in a horizontal state and a part of the stock is placed on the forming base 25. Next, a formed body 1 is moved a little by driving an extraction and contraction driving mechanism 23, and in a state that the stock is inserted and held, the forming base 25 is pressed by the roll 17, the forming base 25 is inclined in the direction of the formed body 1, and the stock is brought to a preliminary forming of a prescribed bending. Thereafter, a handle 7 is rotated, the rolls 17, 4 are rotated in the reverse direction by gears A, B, and the stock is moved in the horizontal direction and brought to a finish forming by the rolls 17, 4. In this case, when a wheel is provided on the lower part of a base 21, even if the stock is large, it can be formed in a job site of a construction work.
