Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide SMC generating no protrusion of a reinforcing material in its width direction, substantially uniform in the content of the reinforcing material in the width direction of SMC and giving a molded article not generating a flaw such as a crack or the like and having excellent strength and strength uniformity.
SOLUTION: In SMC wherein glass fibers are compounded with a thermosetting resin compsn. to thickness the compsn., glass long fibers or continuous glass fibers are dispersed non-directionally over the total width of SMC and, when the total width of SMC is set to X mm, glass staple fibers are dispersed in both end parts in the width direction of SMC over a range of 0.05×X mm to 0.3×X mm from the end edges of SMC.
