To align sheets on a loading tray without obstructing the insertion operation of sheets to a manual insertion setting part in a sheet processing apparatus including the manual insertion setting part for performing binding processing to a sheet bundle manually inserted.SOLUTION: A sheet processing apparatus includes: a neat alignment plate which is provided on the outside of a body housing of the sheet processing apparatus, moves in the alignment direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the sheets loaded onto a loading tray loaded with sheets discharged from a discharge port and aligns both sides of the sheets; and a sheet support surface which is provided at a different position adjacent to the processing tray in the alignment direction and supports the sheets inserted from a manual insertion port provided on the outer side of the body housing. Binding means for performing binding processing to the sheets placed on the processing tray moves the processing tray and the sheet support surface and is provided so as to be able to perform the binding processing on the sheets placed on the processing tray or sheet support surface. The neat alignment plate is located at a position not blocking the manual insertion port during the binding processing of the manually inserted sheets on the sheet support surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
