Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of defective binding and jamming of sheets without increasing size and costs of an apparatus.SOLUTION: A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet binding device 210 for inserting a sheet bundle including a plurality of stacked sheets P between tooth forms having a plurality of projections 300a and a plurality of recesses meshed with the projections, pressing the tooth forms, and pressing and deforming a sheet bundle PB between the projections and the recesses to bind a sheet bundle. A slope 300a1 facing a sheet conveying direction front surface of the projection 300a is formed at an inclination of 45 degrees or less relative to a plane (base 300a3) surface parallel to a sheet conveying direction D5. When the sheet P enters a tooth form part 300 and when a leading edge of the sheet P abuts against the slope 300a1, the sheet P is conveyed in an upward escape state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
