Abstract:
To provide a sheet processing device capable of smoothly conveying a sheet while surely performing sorting even when the sheet has a small size where a length in a conveyance direction is short.SOLUTION: The sheet processing device comprises: conveyance means for conveying a sheet of a prescribed size at a first conveyance speed V1; shift means for moving the sheet to a shift position in a direction crossing a conveyance direction; auxiliary conveyance means provided on a downstream side of the shift means in the conveyance direction to assist conveyance of the sheet whose length in the conveyance direction is shorter than a prescribed size; and control means for controlling the speed of conveyance by the conveyance means. When the sheet having the length in the conveyance direction shorter than the prescribed size is conveyed, the control means reduces the speed of the conveyance means to a second conveyance speed V2 slower than a first conveyance speed V1 before start of moving of the sheet by the shift means or during moving so as to move the sheet having the length in the conveyance direction shorter than the prescribed size to the shift position, before a tip end of the sheet in the conveyance direction reaches the auxiliary conveyance means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
