PURPOSE: To surely separate and transport loaded sheets by providing an electrostatic charging means to charge the surface of a separation/transport member.

CONSTITUTION: A sheet separation/transport device with which loaded many insulating sheets 3 are separated and transported one by one with a separation/ transport member 8, is provided with an electrostatic charging means 13 to charge the surface of the member 8. As a result of this, the sheet 3 is attracted with the member 8, and the uppermost sheet only can be separated and transported. Further, the charging means 13 to charge the surface of the member 8 alternately in positive electricity and in negative electricity is provided. As a result of this, generation of jam or skew by static electricity in the process after separated from the member 8 can be prevented. Further, a plurality of projecting parts and recessed parts are alternately formed on the outer circumferential part of the member 8 along the transport direction of the sheet 3, and the extreme end part of a guide member to guide the separated and transported sheet one by one with the member 8 is inserted to the recessed part. As a result of this, separation of the sheet from the member 8 is smoothly performed with the guide member.
