Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent loss of synchronization in one-or-two-phase excitation and shorten waiting time since the suspension of rotation until the restart of the rotation even if an inexpensive stepping motor having a wide angle per step is used.SOLUTION: A sheet transport device includes: a transport rotational body for transporting a sheet; a stepping motor for rotating the transport rotational body; and a drive control unit for rotating the stepping motor by one-or-two-phase excitation, and controlling the stopping motor to perform a suspension operation for suspending rotation depending on a sheet transport situation and then restarting the rotation. The drive control unit stops the rotation of the stepping motor in a one-phase excitation state and continues one-phase excitation of the stepping motor during the suspension operation if controlling the stepping motor to perform the suspension operation.
