Title:
SHELL FOR REBUILDING ACETABULUM OF ARTIFICIAL HIP JOINT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3439811
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance fixing power to bones, to expedite heeling, to obviate generation of a spacing between the bones and this shell, and to assure long- term stable implantation by providing a main body part with a flange part for bolting and plate parts extending outward for assisting fixation at its peripheral edge.
CONSTITUTION: This shell 1 for rebuilding the acetabulum has the molar cap- shaped main body part (k) to be fixed to the acetabulum cap part and has the flange F1 for bolting and the two plate parts F2 extending outward for assisting fixation at its peripheral edge. Two stop screw-fitting holes H1 are formed in the flange part F1. The flange part F1 is pressed to the peripheral edge in the high position of the acetabulum cap part where the much bone remains particularly when the amt. of the remaining bone is decreased by bone division and the number of screws to be acted from the inner side of the main body part (k) is small. The screws are then acted from the stop screw-fitting holes H1 to increase the fixing power of the shell 1 and the bone.
