Abstract:
To provide a shellac modified product having cell adhesiveness to a mammalian cell.SOLUTION: In a shellac modified product, at least one of a hydroxyl group, and a carboxyl group in a structure is modified. The shellac modified product has cell adhesiveness. When a contact angle of water on a surface of a film made of the shellac modified product is measured after 180 seconds from dropping water on the surface, the contact angle is preferably to be larger than 59 degree. The chemical modification is preferably to be a chemical modification by (a) a derivative having a main chain having one or more carbons, an aromatic ring or cyclic alkyl bonded to the main chain, and a substituent in any one of the main chain, the aromatic ring, and the cyclic alkyl, (b) an aliphatic derivative where a number of carbons having a straight chain or branched chain structure is one or more, or (c) a derivative having silicon in a structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
