To provide a shielding connector assembly having highly storing front shell as a fitting portions of a connector and hardly causing relative dislocation between a metal shell and a front shell, while satisfying the thickness of the metal shell as required by the standards.
A female connector portion 6 having an operating 24 is formed in an insulation housing 2. The metal shell 12 formed of a relatively thinner metal plate is mounted at the front part of the female connector portion 6. A ground tongue portion having prescribed elasticity is formed in an opening 28 of the metal shell 12. The front shell 20 is mounted in the housing 2 and caulked and fixed to the housing 2. An opening 29, corresponding to the openings 24, 28, is formed in the front shell 20 to form the fitting portion of the connector portion 6. The metal shell 12 and the front shell 20 are both fixed to the housing 2, to eliminate the possibility of relative dislocation between both shells 12, 20.
