Abstract:
To provide a shift device for an outboard motor capable of accurately detecting conclusion of a shift change by eliminating an influence of aging of a shift mechanism and unevenness of manufacture quality.
Driving current (dc) of an electric actuator for operating the shift mechanism is detected by a current sensor, and conclusion of the shift change is estimated on the basis of the detected driving current (dc). In detail, load fluctuation of the electric actuator to be generated when slide of a clutch is stopped is detected on the basis of a change of the driving current (dc)(S12, S22), and conclusion of the shift change is estimated on the basis of the detected load fluctuation of the electric actuator (S24).
