In a shift lever device 10, when a shift lever 14 is operated to a "D" shift position, the first part 56 of a regulation link 54 is engaged with the "D" groove 38 of a detent plate 32 by biasing force of a torsion coil spring. Here, since the vehicle rear side surface of the first part 56 is engaged with the vehicle rear side surface of the "D" groove 38, the operation of the shift lever 14 to a vehicle front side is regulated. While, the lower face of the first part 56 is not engaged with the vehicle front side surface, so that the regulation link 54 is turned to an upper side by the vehicle front side surface of the "D" groove 38 against the biasing force of the torsion coil spring, to allow the operation of the shift lever 14 to the vehicle rear side. Thereby, an operation feeling is given to the operation of the shift lever 14 by the biasing force of the torsion coil spring.
