Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a failure of an arithmetic unit which determines a shift position of a shift lever.SOLUTION: Arithmetic means has a main determination process as a process of determining a shift position on the basis of first positions detected by two first position detection means and second positions detected by two second position detection means, and a sub determination process as a process of determining a shift position on the basis of the first positions detected by the two first position detection means and the second positions detected by the two second position detection means, and determines a failure of itself on the basis of a result of comparison between the shift position determined in the main determination process and the shift position determined in the sub determination process.
