Abstract:
PURPOSE: To decrease a driving vibration level and a driving noise level caused by defective working of a gear in a power train system gearbox such as a car transmission and a differential.
CONSTITUTION: Part or whole of a conventional steel shim interposed between a steel bearing 1 which supports a rotation axis and a light metal case 3 is replaced by a resin shim 4 having damping capability. As the resin material for the shim 4, higher engineering plastic with high rigidity, high heat-resistance, and high oil-resistance durable to the working environment of the gearbox, preferably a thermoplastic heat-resistant resin such as PEEK (polyether ether ketone) and polyamide imide is used.
