Abstract:
To provide a ship propulsion system and a ship that can enhance position holding accuracy in controlling the Fish Point (registered trademark) (automated ship maneuvering for maintaining a hull at a target point by turning round and directing the bow or the stern of the hull provided with a main propulsion machine and an auxiliary propulsion machine toward the target point, and by moving the hull in a longitudinal direction) while minimizing an environmental load accompanying driving of the propulsion machines.SOLUTION: A ship propulsion system 102 of the invention includes: a main propulsion machine 1; an auxiliary propulsion machine 2 which has an electric motor 23, and whose maximum output P20 is smaller than that of the main propulsion machine 1; and a control section 6 for controlling Fish Point. In controlling the Fish Point, the control section 6 turns round a hull 101 by driving an auxiliary propeller 20 of the auxiliary propulsion machine 2 in a state that a main propeller 10 of the main propulsion machine 1 is halted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
