To improve the shock absorbing performance by thinking out the structure of a shock absorber of a sole.
This shock absorber of a sole includes a lower layer 2 and an upper layer 3 made of elastomer. The lower layer 2 and the upper layer 3 are respectively provided with lower surfaces 20, 30 and upper surfaces 21, 31. The upper surface 21 of the lower layer 2 and the lower surface 30 of the upper layer 3 are formed substantially corrugated in section. The corrugated shapes respectively include a plurality of apexes 22, 32, bottoms 23, 33 and slant parts 24, 34 connecting the apexes 22, 32 and the bottoms 23, 33 to each other. The upper surface 21 and the lower surface 30 of the corrugated shape are engaged with each other, and two engaging surfaces 21, 30 come into contact with each other at the slat parts 24, 34 of the surfaces 21, 30. Two engaging surfaces 24, 34 are separated from each other at least either at the apexes 22, 32 or the bottoms 23, 33, and a void 4 is formed between the separated parts.
