Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an attenuation force of a shock absorber at a turn of a vehicle, and to reduce the attenuation force at the linear traveling of the vehicle without performing complicated control.SOLUTION: A shock absorber comprises first and second cylinders which turn together with a steering wheel; a piston rod inserted into the first cylinder, and fixed to an upper support at its one end; and first, second and third pistons. The second and third pistons are connected to an end part at a side opposite to an upper support supporting part of the piston rod while adjoining the end part. The second cylinder is arranged in the first cylinder, and inserted with the second and third pistons. The second piston is fixed to the piston rod, and displaced to an axial direction, and the third piston moves in the axial direction together with the piston rod, and turns in conjunction with the first and second cylinders. The second and third pistons have a plurality of oil holes, respectively, and a cross section area of an oil passage being an area on which the oil holes of the second and third pistons are overlapped becomes large at linear traveling compared with the turn of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
