To provide a method for easily shot-peening a moving blade mounting groove formed on an outer periphery of a steam turbine shaft.
This method for shot-peening the moving blade mounting groove 1a formed on the outer periphery of the steam turbine shaft 1 by a device equipped with a holder 2 having a guide surface 2a forming an identical shape with a part of an end surface 1b of a concentric arc of the steam turbine shaft 1, and an injection nozzle 3 turnably fixed to the holder 2 on a desired turning position through a fixing tool 4 is provided with a process for inserting a tip nozzle 3c of the injection nozzle 3 into the moving blade mounting groove 1a and abutting the guide surface 2a to a part of the end surface 1b of the concentric arc of the steam turbine shaft 1, and a process for relatively moving the tip nozzle 3c or the steam turbine shaft 1 while spraying a shot material from the tip nozzle 3c by compressed air in the state that the abutting is maintained.
