To prevent the clogging inside a waste heat recovery boiler due to the smoke ash contained in the exhaust gas of shredder dust, improve the boiler efficiency of the boiler, reduce the frequency of periodic cleaning of the boiler, and increase the quantity of the treated shredder dust.
The first and second supply pipes 14 and 15 are provided on the ceiling part 11b on one end side of a furnace body 11. Shredder dust is fed inside the furnace body through the first supply pipe, and compressed oxidative gas is fed inside the furnace body through the second supply pipe, respectively. Flames are emitted inside the furnace body from a burner 12 provided on the wall part 11a on one end side of the furnace body to burn the shredder dust, and the exhaust gas generated by this combustion is allowed to pass through a waste heat recovery boiler 18 provided outside the furnace body to recover the waste heat of the exhaust gas. The shredder dust is fed inside the furnace body, and simultaneously, or after the combustion of the shredder dust, a reforming material is fed at a rate of 3 to 30 wt.% to the shredder dust of 100 wt.%.
