To provide a shredder capable of achieving safe and highly reliable cutting/pelletizing for various materials in a wide range including a plastic material that is not completely coagulated.
A shredder has: a longitudinal cutting device 1 including a first cutting roller 2 and a second cutting roller; and a transverse-direction cutting device 4 disposed on the rear of the longitudinal cutting device 1. The first cutting roller 2 and the second cutting roller respectively have sawtooth-shaped contours including longitudinal surfaces. The longitudinal surface inclines in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the cutting roller, and also, the surface abuts thereon. The surface has a contour vertically extending, at least for every section, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cutting roller.
