To provide a shrink packaging method excellent in heat transfer efficiency and capable of simply performing the shrink packaging of an article to be packaged such as a container by partially shrinking a specified site of a shrink packaging material such as a shrink film.

The shrink packaging method heats the shrink film 20 and performs the shrink packaging of the article W to be packaged such as the container. The shrink packaging method comprises a process for preparing a shrink film 20 in which a heat energy converting layer 22 absorbing photo-energy and converting the photo-energy to a heat energy is arranged at a specified site, and a process in which, after one or a plurality of the articles W to be packaged are wrapped together by covering or winding them with a shrink film 20, the heat energy converting layer of the shrink packaging material is heat-shrunk by being irradiated with light.
