Title:
SHRINKAGE FIT TYPE CUTTING TOOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000288840
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent decrease in holding allowable torque of a tool after shrinkage fit.

This cutting tool has grooves 13 formed at the base end of the tool 12 fitted with shrinkage in a hole 6 formed in a tool holding portion 2. The grooves 13 are formed in numbers extending straight along an axis O. These grooves 13 are spaced from each other along the peripheral direction of the tool base end with the mutual positions shifted in a stepwise manner along the axis O. In this way, cutting oil which exists between the inner periphery of the hole 6 and the outer periphery of the tool 12 is pushed into the grooves 13 with interference pressure, thus preventing the formation of an oil film.
